THE REAL VIKINGS

Founded in 1971, The Vikings are the oldest and largest Dark Age re-enactment society in the UK, and probably the world. With over 700 members throughout Britain, and others in Europe and the US, The Vikings are the premier society presenting re-enactments of the Viking Age. While the Society concentrates mainly on the 10th Century, some events are set in the wider period from 790 to 1066, with the appropriate modifications to dress and equipment used. Our aim is to provide an accurate and educational portrayal of the Viking period, with an equal emphasis on the daily life of the period, and on the more warlike aspects of life in what was a formative period in European history.

The Vikings were Scandinavian farmers, fishers, herders and pirates whose raids and invasions from Russia to North America between roughly 800-1000 AD helped shape the medieval period of the region.

The word "Viking" means something like "raid" in Old Norse; "vikingr" means something like "one who raids"; but there is no doubt that the word Viking came to mean the loosely-organized cultural groups in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and eventually Iceland who shared a common economy: hunting, fishing, and piracy. The <>is traditionally marked with the first raid on England, in AD 793, and ends with the death of Harald Hardrada in 1066.

Possible reasons for the Viking expansion outside of Scandinavia include population pressure, political pressure, and personal enrichment, or a combination of all three. It is recognized that the Vikings could never have begun raiding or indeed settling beyond Scandinavia if they had not first developed (about 4 centuries earlier) highly effective boat building and navigation skills

I  was born in 1999 in Tegucigalpa .my family always call me punpa or vale that was my nickname  then one year later my cousin Andree was born  I  love him a lot ,when I was born we live in Tegucigalpa my mom  my grandparents my aunts mireya ,Margie ,Karla, and my  uncle Modesto his nickname is Moto cause I could not said Modesto. the second time I have my birthday my mom and my aunt mireya decided to do it both birthdays mine and the birthday of Andree together that was my favorite birthday. Andree is a year younger than me am bigger than him , but he is more bigger than me of  high . I was having 2 years and he 1 year .

When I was 4 years old I came to live to la ceiba with the family of my dad . The first time I go to the beach I was having 4 years old in that trip my mom and me decided to made to me brains . my mom name is Cynthia and my dad name is Kevin my dad have 2 sisters and 1 brother from my grandma the name of they sisters are Rocio and Monica and mi uncle Denis .

Then I have 10 years old I was in 5 grade in the light house school I have very good friends in that school Andréa Nathalie and Daniela and the others where not really a lot my friends and my tutor Mrs. was Mrs. Antunez  she was a very good teacher but sometimes she is very mad . Now am 11 years old and am in heavens door Christian school my  classmates are Mayeli genesis Kalifa Sharon Dan Corey brad Travis and others from other grades like tiffany Basiliky and Ailline . I am friend of all of my classmates except brad I am not to friend of him .

I will celebrate my birthday in my house with a pool if am in la ceiba  and if I go to Tegucigalpa I will celebrate I don’t know were well I don’t have any idea where I could made it I wish in a pool cause I love to swim . last time I do my birthday in Tegucigalpa and it was very fun.

the first moon landing was in 1969.Neil Amstrong and Buzz Alding were the first mens to go to the moon .they were 2 and a half hour in the moon to be exactthey go in the spacecraft name Apollo 11 was the first spacecraft to travel and be in the moon .with only 3,000 feet to go.the lunar module puts astronauts neil amstrong and buzz  aldrin and mission control on high alert .their voices were like rapid-fire . then the eagle  was down  to 2,000 feet. In hundreds of practice simulations , they would have landed  by now , but mission control  couldnt ee the perilious crater and boulder field  confronting neil and buzz.the real name of buzz is not that one is edwin senior and his mother last name was moon and is very crazy because he realy go to the moon and his last name was moon .the couple of distractions of a lot of alarms  had slowed them downed  more than eleven minutes had passed since they started down to the moon there was only twelve minutes of fuel  to decsend  stage .they could take from the other fuel to go back to the earth because it was measure just to go back . absolutely no one expected to happen but they land on the moon . even neil amstrong beleive they were going  to make it ,when  amstrong put the first feet on the moon he said thats one small step for men  one giant leap for mankind
